Quick answer: Veterans Day 2026 is Wednesday, November 11. The biggest parade near Oklahoma City is in Midwest City at 10 a.m. on Douglas Blvd. Moore holds a ceremony at 10 a.m., Del City at Patriot Park, and Edmond at 4:30 p.m. Norman's parade moves to a Sunday so families can come.
Veterans Day falling on a Wednesday splits the metro's events in two: the ones held on the day itself, and the ones moved to a weekend. If you only check one calendar, you'll miss half of them. Here's the whole lineup with times, routes and the road closures that catch people off guard.
As a Navy veteran, this is one of my favorite weeks of the year in Oklahoma. Pick one, bring the kids, and say thank you to somebody in uniform.

Midwest City Veterans Day Parade 2026: the big one
The Midwest City Veterans Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11. It's the largest Veterans Day parade in the Oklahoma City metro, right in Tinker's backyard. Look for marching bands, military vehicles, floats, Shriners and a flyover.
Route: east on SE 15th from Century Blvd., north on Douglas Blvd. to Reno Ave., then west on Reno to Morris McGee Drive.
Road closures: last year every road on the route closed at 9:30 a.m. Park early near Joe B. Barnes Regional Park and walk in.
For veterans: you're invited to sit on the reviewing stage at Eastside Church of Christ, 915 S. Douglas Blvd. Last year an ASL interpreter was at the stage. Route map and details
Norman Veterans Day Parade 2026: the Sunday option
Norman holds its parade on a Sunday on purpose. Schools don't close for Veterans Day, so a weekend lets families come. Last year it was the Sunday before Veterans Day, which points to Sunday, Nov. 8 this year, though the city hasn't confirmed it yet.
The parade starts at 2 p.m. and stays inside Reaves Park, winding from the softball complex lot off East Timberdell to the Cleveland County Veterans Memorial. The memorial ceremony follows from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Expect classic cars and military vehicles. City of Norman event page
Moore Veterans Day Ceremony 2026: short and quiet
Moore's ceremony runs 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Veterans Memorial Park, 1900 SE 4th St. It's shorter and calmer than a parade, a good fit for older veterans or anyone who'd rather skip the crowd. It overlaps with Midwest City's parade, so you'll pick one. City of Moore listing
Del City Veterans Day Ceremony 2026: Patriot Park
Del City holds a Veterans Day ceremony every Nov. 11 at Patriot Park, on the east lawn of the Del City Community Center at 4505 SE 15th St. The park is home to several veterans memorials, including a Women Veterans Monument dedicated on Veterans Day 2014. It's a few minutes from the Midwest City route. Del City Veterans Day
Edmond Veterans Day Celebration 2026: after work
Edmond's celebration starts at 4:30 p.m., the only Veterans Day event in the metro you can catch after a workday. Last year's ceremony at the Stephenson Park Pavilion included a Jr. ROTC color guard and a musket salute, followed by booths from the VFW, American Legion, Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs and National Guard family programs. If you have benefits questions, this is the one to attend. Edmond History Museum
Bonus: Veterans Day 5K in Edmond (Nov. 15)
The Veterans Day 5K is Sunday, Nov. 15, at Mitch Park in Edmond. Military entry is cheaper, the one-mile fun run is family- and stroller-friendly, and proceeds benefit the 100Fore22 Foundation, which supports veterans and first responders. Registration
