Quick answer: Yukon's Christmas in the Park opens Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026, at 6 p.m. and runs nightly 6 to 11 p.m. through Dec. 31. It's free. Start at NW 10th Street and Yukon Parkway, and tune to 107.9 FM for the music.
Every metro family has a Christmas lights list. Yukon's is the one people drive in from out of state for: about three miles, 500-plus displays and roughly 5 million lights, spread across three connected parks. It's also the one that can eat an hour of your night in a line of brake lights if you go at the wrong time.
Here's how to do it right.

Opening night is the busiest and most fun night of the season. In past years it has included the Chill Your Cheeks 5K and a 1K Jingle Walk through the lights, a drone show, a carnival with food trucks, an elf circus act, a 140-foot zip line, the outdoor ice rink, and Santa photos with a real reindeer.
The 5K has started at 5 p.m. from Chisholm Trail Park, with the lights switching on at 6 and the drone show around 7. The city hasn't posted the 2026 schedule yet, so confirm times on yukonchristmas.com before you go.
How to skip the worst of the line
- Go on a weeknight. Fridays, Saturdays and the week before Christmas back up the most.
- Go early or late. Get in line right at 6 p.m. or after 9 p.m.
- Walk it instead. Park in the Oklahoma Parking Lot on the north end of Chisholm Trail Park and walk the lights. It's also where you'll find Santa, the train and the selfie stations.
- Use the right I-40 exit. Yukon Parkway (138A/139B) feeds the start of the line on NW 10th.
- Check your height. Anything over 13 feet, like a big RV or a lifted truck with a rack, won't clear the route.
What to do once you're there
- Santa Express Train: $5 a person, boarding on the west side of the Oklahoma lot, 6–10 p.m.
- Yukon Ice Rink: in Chisholm Trail Park, with prices on the rink's site.
- Santa: at the Character House by the Chisholm Trail exit on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Food: concessions by the train depot.
- Proposals: you can reserve the "Will You Marry Me?" sign through the city in advance.
Living near the lights
Part of Yukon's charm is that this is a city event, built by city crews and volunteers for more than 25 years. That small-town pride shows up year-round, and it's a big reason families moving west of OKC look at Yukon and Mustang.
If you're house hunting out that way, or anywhere in the metro, I'm happy to help. And if you've served, my 2026 guide to buying with a VA loan in Oklahoma City and Norman walks through how your benefit works here. For more light displays around the metro, see my OKC Christmas lights 2026 guide.
